Introducing Skin Scholars!
Posted on 25 July 2019
A brand built on a family legacy, Skin Scholars started many generations ago in Southampton County Virginia by the Bright Family. Founders Elaina and Alysia Bright's 5x Great Grandmother was blessed with the knowledge of the land and took care of her family from the land. Their mission is to bring their customers, “Legacy Skin Love!” We love it!
When family members were burned by the sun or when their hands ached from tending to the gardens on their land the family came up with their own solutions and used what they had. With their homegrown herbs, flowers fresh and collected saps, oils and fresh water from the land, the Bright family created creams, salves, and tinctures to heal their family. The recipes, treatments and future products were passed down to each generation. From there Skin Scholars was born!
Some of our favorite Skin Scholars products include the Organic Makeup Remover Pods and the Floral Water Toners. Skin Scholars is certified as Cruelty-Free by both Leaping Bunny and PETA as well as established as a Green Business through Green America. The brand prides itself on using the highest quality ingredients like Aura Cacia Organic Essential Oils and Kakosi Organic Shea and Cocoa Butter. Good for you and good for the environment!
Skin Scholars products can be purchased online at MarjaniBeauty.com. You can also pick up products in-store at our Washington, DC location which features a custom face mask bar with ingredients provided by Skin Skin Scholars. Guests can mix and match clay products to make a mask unique to their skin. All options are brown-girl approved and we couldn't be happier with the partnership! Stop by and try it out for yourself.
